Megaponics ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at megaponics.io. We provide free hydroponic growing tools including a nutrient calculator and grow guides. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it.

2. What Data We Collect

• Email address — when you create a free account
• Name — optionally provided during signup
• Google account info — if you choose to sign in with Google (name, email, profile photo)
• Usage data — pages visited, features used (via anonymous analytics)

We do not collect payment information, passwords in plain text, or any health data.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To create and manage your Megaponics account
• To send you updates about new features and our Kickstarter campaign launch
• To improve the product based on how people use it
• To contact you if there are important changes to the service

We will never sell your data to third parties. We will never send you unrelated spam.

4. Where Your Data is Stored

Your account data (email, name) is stored securely in Google Firebase, which is SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified. Passwords are hashed and salted — we cannot read them. Your data is stored on Google's servers, which may be located outside India.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics (anonymised) to understand how people use the site. This may set cookies in your browser. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data. You can opt out by using a browser ad-blocker or the Google Analytics opt-out tool.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Megaponics is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify registered users by email of any significant changes. Continued use of Megaponics after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
